Perched atop a windswept hill and hidden behind iron gates, Blackthorn Manor has stood for centuries. Though the house has passed through generations of caretakers, gardeners, scholars, and eccentrics, rumors persist that not every resident ever truly left.
Today, the manor's halls remain lined with portraits whose eyes seem to follow visitors from room to room. The conservatory overflows with strange specimens. The library keeps records no one remembers writing. And somewhere beyond the orchard, a bell occasionally rings despite having no rope attached.
Whether you believe the stories or not, one thing is certain: Blackthorn Manor is delighted to have you.

When a young woman is discovered dead on the grounds of Blackthorn Manor, whispers of foul play quickly spread throughout the estate. Guests are tasked with investigating the circumstances surrounding her death by searching the manor for hidden clues.
Letters, estate records, family relics, and portrait fragments are concealed throughout the house. Each discovery reveals another piece of the story and points investigators toward a new location.

Every great manor accumulates peculiar treasures over time. Invite guests to contribute to Blackthorn Manor's cabinet of curiosities by bringing a small object with an interesting appearance or story.
Objects might include:
An unusual antique
A vintage photograph
A curious trinket
A natural specimen
A mysterious keepsake
Display all contributions together in a dedicated area and encourage guests to speculate about their origins. At the end of the evening, hold a vote to determine the manor's most intriguing object.

Guests begin the evening with a modest inheritance of estate currency and are invited to participate in the auction of Blackthorn Manor's remaining possessions.
Each lot features an illustration of a manor object, perhaps a portrait, cabinet, chair, mirror, or tea service. The auctioneer presents the item and reads its history aloud before bidding begins.
Unbeknownst to the guests, one object carries a lingering curse. After the final lot has been sold, the reverse side of each auction card is revealed. Most disclose harmless histories, while one uncovers the unfortunate truth behind the manor's cursed possession.
The guest who acquires the cursed item receives a special prize, favor, or token from the estate in recognition of their remarkable misfortune.ription

For generations, the kitchens of Blackthorn Manor have been responsible for feeding guests, residents, and the occasional unexpected visitor. Their most infamous chef, August Finch, was briefly removed from service following an unfortunate misunderstanding involving several pheasant pies and a magistrate's inquiry.
Having long since served his sentence and pledged to leave poisonings in the past, Chef Finch now offers inspiration for hosting your own gathering at Blackthorn Manor. Choose a few favorites or prepare the entire bill of fare for an evening of mystery, mischief, and remarkably good eating.
